The Blind Spot Above a Standard Photo Eye
A low beam can miss a high obstruction.
Conventional safety sensors are designed to monitor a narrow path close to the floor. A raised liftgate, protruding bumper, bike rack, cargo, pet, or person can occupy the door opening above that beam.

Beam coverage begins at 3.5 inches and extends to 71.5 inches above the floor across qualifying 8–18 foot openings.
Optional audible parking help
