Dublin Garage Door Repair: Rebuilding a Cracked Center Stile
A Dublin homeowner had a double door that flexed and rattled near the middle every time it opened. Instead of selling a full door replacement, we reinforced the damaged section and rebuilt the center-stile support, so the door tracks straight again at a fraction of the cost.
What the homeowner noticed
The center of the door looked bowed, and the panel had started to crack around the strut area. Every time the opener ran, the middle of the door would shudder and make a loud rattle, and it was getting worse week to week.
What we found
The center stile, the vertical support that runs down the middle of the door, had failed at its fastener points, and the section had lost its rigidity. The bracket, strut, and hinge hardware in that area were working loose because the panel could no longer hold them steady.
The repair we recommended
We reinforced the damaged section with a section saver, installed a new bracket, strut, and hinge hardware, and re-riveted the center-stile support. Replacing the whole door was not necessary: reinforcing the section restored full strength while keeping the existing door. After the repair we cycled the door and confirmed it moved straight and quiet.
Before and after
How the door worked afterward
The door now tracks straight, opens without flexing, and the rattle is gone. The homeowner kept their existing door and avoided a full replacement. If your Dublin door is bowing, cracking, or rattling in the middle, call (925) 409-4974 or book your repair online.
