Why won’t a garage door close after the sensors are aligned?
The remaining cause may be pinched or corroded low-voltage wiring, a failed splice, moisture intrusion, damaged sensor pigtails, an intermittent connector, or a failed sensor pair. These faults require electrical testing rather than further alignment.

Inspect staples and attachment points for crushed low-voltage wire.
Check splices and connectors for corrosion, looseness, or moisture.
Look for damaged pigtails where the wire enters each sensor.
Confirm whether the fault follows the wiring or the sensor pair.
Safety note: Do not bypass the safety sensors to force the door closed. Damaged wiring and failed components should be repaired with the opener disconnected and the safety system fully retested.
