How should damaged garage door safety-sensor wiring be repaired and concealed?
Remove failed temporary connections, confirm conductor continuity and polarity where applicable, make a protected low-voltage splice, secure the wire away from moving hardware, conceal it without crushing it, align both sensors, and test the reversal system.
What to watch for
Remove loose twists, exposed copper, and unsupported splices.
Keep the repair accessible enough to inspect and service.
Use a route that avoids rollers, tracks, hinges, and door edges.
Verify steady sensor indicators and complete an obstruction test.
Safety note: Unplug the opener before repairing conductors and never bypass the sensor circuit. A door that will not reverse during testing should remain out of normal service.
Customers should be able to see what failed, understand the repair plan, review the completed work, and know how the system was tested. Valiant uses field photos, video, written findings, and completion notes to make the repair visible—not mysterious.
