What separates a proper garage door sensor repair from a temporary patch?
A complete repair addresses the bracket, sensor position, wire condition, splice protection, routing, alignment, and closing-cycle test. Simply twisting wires together or pointing the photo eyes at each other does not create a durable or documented repair.
What to watch for
Compare the original bracket and wiring condition with the corrected work.
Keep sensor lenses at matching heights and aimed across the opening.
Protect splices and route conductors away from moving door hardware.
Complete an obstruction and reversal test before leaving the system in service.
Safety note: Never bypass or defeat the photo-eye circuit. If the door only closes while the wall button is held, treat it as an unresolved safety fault.
Customers should be able to see what failed, understand the repair plan, review the completed work, and know how the system was tested. Valiant uses field photos, video, written findings, and completion notes to make the repair visible—not mysterious.
